Chess clubs and teams of Vilnius 7

Vilnius has one large open chess club, Vilniaus šachmatų klubas, which runs the Tuesday bar blitz, the Monday games, leagues, marathons, simultaneous exhibitions and variant evenings, and sells a yearly membership on its site. Around it stand smaller clubs with a narrower circle: the Verdenė children’s and youth club on Ukmergės gatvė teaches chess on Mondays and holds pupils’ tournaments, and the Brigadier General Antanas Gustaitis chess club plays the military games’ tournament with the army sports club.

Vilnius University has a chess team with its own trainer, national student rapid champions in its records; VILNIUS TECH names a chess club in its first-year guide without a meeting day. Two older clubs, NSEL30 for chess and bridge and RIKIS, the draughts and chess club of the deaf, appear only in the register of public institutions.
