Tournaments for children and juniors 3

Three series around Vilnius are made for young players. Šachmatų Akademija 64 holds a winter, a spring and a summer cup at the WIDEN Arena on Alksnynų gatvė in Jadvygiškės, in the Riešė area of the Vilnius district, each with sections for players under ten and under fourteen. Vilniaus Antakalnio pradinė mokykla plays its Friendship Cup in spring as a family tournament, with a section for secondary-school pupils as well.

The city school games in chess, organised by the sports school Sostinės tauras or by the sports club Žaidynės tęsiasi, are played several times a season, the latest for secondary-school students on Arklių gatvė. The Verdenė youth club and the studio on Žalgirio gatvė also hold tournaments for pupils and beginners; they are filed with the clubs and the lessons.
